Hosting a Masters Dinner Inspired by Scottie Scheffler
Because hospitality is a hole-in-one when it’s thoughtful, intentional, and a little bit fun.
There’s something timeless and iconic about the Masters Tournament. The pristine greens, the traditions, the unmistakable azalea-lined course, and of course—the coveted green jacket. But one of the lesser-known (yet utterly charming) traditions is the Masters Champions Dinner, hosted by the previous year’s winner and attended only by past champions.
This year, Scottie Scheffler—calm, humble, and brilliantly talented—hosted his second Champions Dinner, and it sparked a little idea: Why not bring the Masters home? Whether you’re celebrating with golf fans or just love the excuse to gather, here’s how to host your own Masters Dinner, Scheffler-style.
Set the Scene: Green Jacket Glam Meets Southern Charm
Decor for your Masters Dinner should feel classy but comfortable—think country club meets cozy dinner party.
Color palette: Emerald green, crisp white, gold accents and of course the pinks and reds of the iconic azaleas.
Add an element of WOW!: I picked up a putting green for a friendly competition—but then had a lightbulb moment and used it as a table topper on our island instead where we were serving the food. It was unexpected, totally on theme, and honestly... it made the night. Everyone loved it! A playful nod to the Masters that brought the whole dinner to life.
Centerpiece: Fresh azaleas, tall tapered candles, and a few golf elements—I used my husbands golf clubs, scattered golf balls and tees and add a couple adorable mini golf carts
Tablecloth & Napkins: Go classic white or green-and-white gingham for a Southern touch. I used my St. Patricks Day tablecloth.
On the TV: Play a YouTube loop of the Augusta course with Master’s theme music
Next year I’m going to add: Hang a few framed vintage Masters photos
The Menu: Inspired by Scottie Scheffler’s Real Champions Dinner
Scottie kept his menu simple and Southern—When my husband sent me the menu I asked if Scottie was a twelve year old boy. Haha!! I took the menu and made them my own. They are super simple!
Here's how to recreate it at home:
Appetizers
🏌️♂️ Scottie Scheffler-Inspired Cheeseburger Sliders
Perfect for a Masters Dinner or a backyard gathering—complete with a little golf flair.
Ingredients:
1 lb ground beef (80/20 recommended)
1 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp onion powder
1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
Salt to taste
8–10 mini pretzel Hawaiian slider buns
1 bag Trader Joe’s frozen French fries, cooked
Ketchup (for topping)
Golf tees (for fun, optional but adorable)
Instructions:
Mix the Meat:
In a bowl, combine ground beef with garlic powder, onion powder, Worcestershire sauce, and salt. Mix gently until just combined (don’t overwork it!).Form the Patties:
Shape into small, slider-sized patties—about 2.5 inches wide. You should get around 8–10 mini patties.Chill:
Place the patties on a parchment-lined tray or plate, cover, and refrigerate until ready to cook. (This helps them hold their shape and enhances the flavor.)Cook:
When you're ready to serve, heat a skillet over medium-high heat. Pan-fry the patties for about 3–4 minutes per side, or until cooked through and browned.Assemble the Sliders:
Place a mini patty on the bottom bun, top with a few crispy Trader Joe’s fries, and a dollop of ketchup.Top It Off:
Finish with the top bun—and for a playful Masters-themed touch, pierce the slider with a clean golf tee before serving.
These were incredible and are guaranteed crowd-pleasers and the perfect bite-sized nod to Scottie’s humble, all-American menu. Whether you’re hosting a Masters watch party, a backyard dinner, or just celebrating a love for hospitality with a twist, these sliders are a hole-in-one. I will be re-making my recipe for Master’s Sunday.
🔥 Firecracker Shrimp with Sriracha Mayo
Spicy, saucy, and seriously addictive—perfect as an appetizer or Masters Dinner starter.

1 lb Wild Argentina shrimp (Costco), thawed and peeled
1 bottle Trader Joe’s Sweet Chili Sauce

Transfer shrimp to a large serving bowl. Drizzle generously with the Sriracha mayo and toss gently to coat.
🍝 Papa Scheff’s Meatball & Ravioli Bites
A cozy, crowd-pleasing bite straight from the heart of the Masters Dinner table—my version made easy thanks to Costco.
Ingredients:
1 package Mama Mancini’s Jumbo Beef Meatballs in Sauce (Costco)
Fresh Pecorino Romano cheese, for grating
Instructions:
Heat the Meatballs:
Warm Mama Mancini’s meatballs and sauce according to package directions until hot and bubbling.Cook the Ravioli:
Bring a large pot of salted water to a gentle boil. Add ravioli and cook according to package instructions—but don’t overcook! You want them tender, not mushy.Assemble the Bites:
Drain ravioli and transfer to a large serving bowl. Pour the hot meatballs and sauce right over the top.Finish with Flair:
Grate a generous amount of fresh pecorino over everything. Serve warm with mini forks or toothpicks for easy bite-sized sharing.
This dish is a nod to tradition and comfort food—with zero fuss. Ideal for feeding a crowd or bringing hearty, Italian-inspired vibes to your Masters Dinner lineup.
first course
Texas-Style Chilli
There’s a lot of debate on the internet about what qualifies as true Texas chili—people are seriously passionate in those recipe comment sections, and they do not hold back! From what I’ve gathered, it’s a firm no to both beans and tomatoes. Just stick with the meat, keep it bold and simple.
I went with this recipe from Taste of Home—it proudly claims to be truly Texas chili… and hey, who am I to question that? It was absolutely delicious. I added a little kick with some Trader Joe’s habanero hot sauce!
Main Course
Texas Ribeye Steak
A huge thanks to our friend who brought the ribeyes—they turned out perfectly
Mac & Cheese
I turned to the Queen of Hospitality herself—Ina Garten—and used her Barefoot Contessa Overnight Mac & Cheese recipe. It’s rich, creamy, and the ultimate make-ahead comfort dish that never lets you down.
Jalapeño Creamed Corn
I had to laugh—after all the effort that went into the dishes, my friend looked at me and said, “Honestly? The creamed corn was my favorite thing we ate.” 😂
So in the spirit of keeping things simple and delicious, here’s the full, in-depth recipe:
Open a can of Del Monte cream-style corn, toss in half a sliced jalapeño, and heat it up. That’s it. No frills, just comfort—and apparently a total crowd-pleaser.
Brussels Sprouts
Brussels sprouts, halved and tossed with a drizzle of olive oil and a sprinkle of salt, then roasted until golden and crispy.
In the final stretch, mix together 2 tablespoons balsamic reduction and 2 tablespoons soy sauce, pour over the sprouts, and toss to coat.
Pop them back in the oven for another 5 minutes to let that sweet and savory glaze caramelize to perfection.
Chili-Lime Sweet Potatoes
Spread pre-cut sweet potatoes onto a parchment-lined baking sheet, drizzle with olive oil, and give them a generous sprinkle of Trader Joe’s Chile Lime Seasoning.
Roast at 400°F until golden, tender, and just the right amount of zesty.
Dessert
Warm Chocolate Chip Skillet Cookie with Ice Cream
I used this skillet chocolate chip cookie recipe—perfect for prepping ahead of time and popping in the oven just before serving.
Once baked, I topped each one with a scoop of vanilla ice cream and a drizzle of Trader Joe’s caramel sauce for that gooey, golden finish.
Pro tip: Don’t forget to give your guests a heads-up—those skillets come out hot (but so worth it).
Serve it family-style for a relaxed, communal feel—or plate it for a more elegant experience. Either way, it’s comfort food elevated, just like Scottie would want.
The Drinks: Keep It Classic with a Signature Twist
Signature Azalea Cocktail - I love this printable cocktail recipe card. I’m obsessed with these golf ball glasses!
Sweet Tea – Add mint and lemon for a Masters-worthy refresh.
Arnold Palmer Bar – Let guests mix their own combo of lemonade and iced tea, with optional bourbon or vodka.
While the actual Champions Dinner is a private affair, yours should feel like a celebration of community and the beauty of slowing down.
Toast to the evening: Share a short word about legacy, integrity, or even Scottie’s own faith and groundedness. His humility and God-honoring approach to the sport is worth a moment of reflection. We talked all things Master’s wins and losses.
Golf quiz or trivia: A few fun facts about the Masters or past winners makes for a great dinner table icebreaker.
Optional attire: Encourage guests to dress for the Masters – Prizes to the most committed. Here are some links to my fits & more
The Masters Tournament Style Winners
Whether you’re a golf lover or just someone who loves an excuse to gather, a Masters Dinner is the perfect opportunity to bring people together. Like Scheffler himself, keep it humble, keep it meaningful, and remember: the best hosts are the ones who make people feel seen, heard, and honored at the table.
Because you don’t need a green jacket to host like a champion.
